Tortoise Creek Carignan

This dry old vine Carignan has a deep, red color and lovely aromas of wild herbs and red berries. On the plate it is rich and full bodied with hints of spice and leather. Excellent with beef, barbeque or firm cheeses.

This cuvée of old vine (vieilles vignes) Carignan comes from a vineyard in the village of Cruzy which is located in the hills of the Herault region, north east of Beziers. The Carignan grape has been planted in the Languedoc for a great many years and the vineyards that produce this wine are all over 50 years old.

Terres Falmet Cinsault

From WA: Hightoned cherry with candied and distilled shadings mingles on the nose with brown spices and candied citrus zest, all of which reunite on an infectiously juicy and sweetly fruity palate. Cardamom, citrus rind, and cherry pit serve for an invigorating extension. I would plan to enjoy this over the next 12-18 months while its fruit intensity is intact.
